FRC Team 614, the Night Hawks, is a high school robotics team based out of Hayfield Secondary School in Alexandria, Virginia. Since our founding in 2001, we’ve been proudly competing in the international FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), where high school students design, build, and program industrial-size robots to take on dynamic engineering challenges.
Each year, our team brings together students, mentors, and community partners to foster hands-on experience in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Team 614 emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and leadership—skills that extend far beyond the competition field. We believe in empowering every member to grow, whether they’re writing code, building drive systems, managing outreach, or developing media and business strategies.
In addition to competing, the Night Hawks are passionate about giving back. We mentor younger robotics teams, host STEM events, and work to make robotics accessible and exciting for all students in our local community. At Team 614, we’re not just building robots—we’re building the future.
For over 25 years, FRC Team 614 has proudly operated without charging any membership fees. This commitment ensures that any student—regardless of financial background—can join the Night Hawks and participate fully in our robotics program.
Team 614 is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity under the name Team614. Donations are tax-deductible and directly support student opportunities in STEM education.
